Antietam and a scarey spider

While on vacation we went to Antietam, Maryland. This was a site of a Civil War battlefield. For Clara Barton it was a beginning of what was to become the Red Cross. I collected rocks for my flower garden boarder. At Antietam I was looking under the shade of a tree for a rock and had a omg moment. The spider was huge.

Random pics of D.C.

The Capital several views, Washington monument, Rayburn statue. Native American museum. The Native American museum has no corners. While in D.C. we took a trolley tour of the city. The trolley broke down and the driver couldn't get the door open either. We were stuck on the trolley for nearly 2 hours. One block from Ford theater where Lincoln was shot.

Smithsonian natural history museum

There was soooooooo much to see at the natural history museum. Please enjoy the video of the butterflies. There were double doors to make sure that when we left the room there were no hitch hikers trying to get out with us. Several of them landed on us while we were in the garden.

Bens chili bowl

while we were in D.C. we went to Ben's chili bowl. We sat at the same table that President Obama sat at the day before he became our 44th president.

Lincoln memorial and our hotel

Aunt Wendi and Uncle Joe treated us to a wonderful trip to Washington D.C. Ashlea was so impressed with our hotel room. She said "Mom this room even has tooth paste" The lobby was very nice and she just kept saying "Wow" Thank you Wendi and Joe.

Vacation

Where do I begin? I guess at the beginning of the trip. This is how I felt driving 1000 miles. Wendi treating Ashlea to the works at the nail salon. They got their toes polished to match for the trip to D.C.
