Kum Ba Yah

Ashlea was to play this at a recital on May 25th. On Monday May 24th, We got the sad news that Uncle George was not good. We tried to make it to Balwin City to see him one last time but didn't make it. Ashlea took it really hard. But this song seems fitting. We will miss him. I wish every one could have known George the way I did. He was my protector.

Last day of school

I wanted to reward Ashlea for a job well done in school. I took her, Rylee and Lanie to Sonic for ice cream sundaes then we got Lanie's bike in the trunk and brought it to our house. Then we got Rylee's bike. The girls had fun riding their bike's and playing at the Morganville park and eating watermelon. After a long day we went to the Rex theater in Clay Center and saw Schrek .

Tuesday May 18th the second grade class had a fun day at the zoo park. They all brought their lunches then had a snack at Dexter park on the way back to school.

Ashlea promoted to 3rd grade

I can't believe how quickly the school year went by. Ashlea got a wonderful report card. I am so proud. Yesterday was the last day of school.

Ashlea was experimenting with a yellow miniature rose and stuck the stem in green food coloring. It turned green very quickly.

1st place

Ashlea got 3 1st place trophies, a 2nd and a 3rd place medals at the Kansas state twirling competition. Sorry the picture is not better. She was up against 8 girls for marching and this is her finding out her results. She got first in this one. Koralea was short a trophy and borrowed the one Ashlea won for this event. She said she has some at the studio and will replace it. Ashlea was a good sport about it.
